Spend two nights in North Serengeti witnessing the thrilling Great Migration and dramatic river crossings, followed by a night in Central Serengeti to explore its wildlife-rich plains. An unforgettable adventure awaits Day 00: Arrival Day – Kilimanjaro Airport – Arusha Upon arrival at the airport (Kilimanjaro or Arusha) you will be met by HODOPHILE Safaris’ representative and drive you to your luxury accommodation in Arusha for overnight stay waiting for your adventures to start on the following day. Destination: Arusha Accommodation: Mount Meru Hotel Meal plan: Bed & Breakfast Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park Early morning after breakfast at around 8:00am, you will have a short briefing before you depart to Tarangire National Park. The park with its endless tree savannah including the impressive baobab trees and seasonal marshes is also home to the largest population of elephants in northern Tanzania. You are also likely to spot giraffes, buffaloes, lions, zebras, gnus and other types of antelopes and gazelles. Your guide will open the roof of the vehicle for excellent wildlife viewing. Hot Lunch will be served at around 12:30pm at the picnic site and after that you will continue to explore this incredible park. In the evening after exploration, you will drive straight to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay. Destination: Tarangire National park Accommodation: Farm Of Dreams Lodge Meal plan: Full Board (B, L & D) Day 3: Central Serengeti Early morning after breakfast at around 8:00am, you will drive straight to Serengeti National Park passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Continue your journey around the crater and descend the other side, enjoying your free “African massage” on the bumpy road, passing through Maasai villages on your way to the Serengeti National Park. At the Naabi Hill entrance gate, you can walk to a viewpoint with spectacular views across the endless plains of the Serengeti. Hot lunch will be served either at the gate or en-route towards the heart of Serengeti with an incredible set up by your guide inside the bush. The Serengeti National Park is home to the largest concentration of wildlife than anywhere else on the planet. You will have an unlimited drive until in the evening where you will drive straight to your tented camp or lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Destination: Serengeti National Park Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Accommodation: Embalakai Authentic Camps Day 4: Central Serengeti to North Serengeti Early morning after breakfast at your accommodation, we will drive straight to the far north of Serengeti National Park known as Kogatende to follow the great migration of more than a million of wildebeests accompanied by hundred thousands of Zebras and antelopes. During July – October,the wildebeest are in the northern Serengeti plains, and you have a chance of seeing up to thousands crossing the great Mara River. As the sight of the wildebeest crossing the so dramatic, it is considered by many the most desirable time to see the migration. You will not only see the migration of wildebeests but also other animals such as predators hunting their prey and other birds’ species at the area. After lunch and extensive game viewing, you will drive straight to your carefully selected accommodation for dinner and overnight. Destination: Northern Serengeti National Park (Kogatende) Meals: Full Board (B, L & D) Accommodation: Heritage Mara Kogatende Day 5: Full Day in North Serengeti Early morning after breakfast at your accommodation, we will proceed our game drive on the northern Serengeti (Kogatende) following the great migration. You will spend this full day on the northern Serengeti for game viewing and if you’re lucky enough you can spot the crossing at the Mara river as well as crocodiles hunting their prey during the crossing. After lunch and game drive, you will head straight for your accommodation for dinner and overnight. Destination: Northern Serengeti National Park (Kogatende) Accommodation: Heritage Mara Kogatende Meal: Full Board (B, L & D) Day 6: North Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater Early morning after breakfast, you will drive straight from Northern Serengeti to Ngorongoro conservation area en-route whereby you will arrive in the late afternoon at your accommodation on the rim of the crater for relaxation, dinner and overnight before your game drive inside the crater on the following day. Destination: Ngorongoro Conservation Area Meal: Full Board (B, L & D) Accommodation: Rhino Lodge Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater- Arusha Early morning after breakfast at your accommodation, you will descend down the crater. The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera forming a spectacular bowl of about 265 square kilometres, with sides up to 600 metres deep and is home to approximately 30,000 mammals. The crater floor consists of a number of different habitats that include grassland, swamps, forests and Lakes filled by the Munge River. All these various environments attract wildlife to drink, wallow, graze, hide or climb.The crater offers a breathtakingly beautiful scenery and is the best place in East Africa to see the ‘Big Five’ (elephant, rhinoceros, buffalo, lion and rarely leopard).
