On this 7 days Family luxury safari, you will visit all the major northern parks of Tanzania which include Tarangire National Park which is famous for its baobab trees and elephant herds, Serengeti National Park which is also known as the endless plains and famous for the largest concentration of wildlife than any other park and famous for its great migration, Ngorongoro crater which is the largest unbroken caldera and the best place to witness the endangered black rhino and Lake Manyara which is famous for its birds’ life. All meals and drinks are included.

Day 1: Arrival Day – Kilimanjaro Airport – Arusha

Upon arrival at the airport (Kilimanjaro or Arusha) you will be met by HODOPHILE Safaris’ representative and drive you to your accommodation in Arusha for overnight stay waiting for your adventures to start on the following day.

Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Early morning after breakfast at around 8:00am, you will have a short briefing before you depart to Tarangire National Park. The park with its endless tree savannah including the impressive baobab trees and seasonal marshes is also home to the largest population of elephants in northern Tanzania. You are also likely to spot giraffes, buffaloes, lions, zebras, gnus and other types of antelopes and gazelles. Your guide will open the roof of the vehicle for excellent wildlife viewing. Hot Lunch will be served at around 12:30pm at the picnic site and after that you will continue to explore this incredible park.
In the evening after exploration, you will drive straight to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater

Early morning after breakfast at your accommodation, you will drive straight to Ngorongoro conservation area whereby you stop at the view point of Ngorongoro crater before you descend down the crater. The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera forming a spectacular bowl of about 265 square kilometres, with sides up to 600 metres deep and is home to approximately 30,000 mammals. The crater floor consists of a number of different habitats that include grassland, swamps, forests and Lakes filled by the Munge River.  All these various environments attract wildlife to drink, wallow, graze, hide or climb.  The crater offers a breathtakingly beautiful scenery and is the best place in East Africa to see the ‘Big Five’ (elephant, rhinoceros, buffalo, lion and rarely leopard). Any safari in northern Tanzania should ideally include a visit to the Ngorongoro Crater. It is one of the most beautiful nature safari locations in the world and an extraordinary place to meet people from the Massai tribe. The Ngorongoro Crater offers excellent birding, with over 500 species. You will have packed picnic lunch boxes with you and after having lunch at the picnic site, you will proceed with game drive until the late afternoon where you will ascend the crater and drive straight to your accommodation in Karatu for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Karatu to Central Serengeti

Early morning after breakfast at around 8:00am, you will drive straight to Serengeti National Park passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and stop at a viewing point has a built pavilion that provides a near 180° view of the Ngorongoro crater. Continue your journey around the crater and descend the other side, enjoying your free “African massage” on the bumpy road, passing through Maasai villages on your way to the Serengeti National Park. At the Naabi Hill entrance gate, you can walk to a viewpoint with spectacular views across the endless plains of the Serengeti. Hot lunch will be served either at the gate or en-route towards the heart of Serengeti with an incredible set up by your guide inside the bush. The Serengeti National Park is home to the largest concentration of wildlife than anywhere else on the planet. You will have an unlimited drive until in the evening where you will drive straight to your tented camp or lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Full Day Game drive inside Serengeti

Early morning after breakfast at around 8:00am or according to your preference, you will continue exploring the endless plains of the Serengeti National Park for a full day game drive. The park offers a multitude of wildlife including the Big Five – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard. Hot lunch will be served inside the park at around 12:30pm with some soft drinks and unlimited drinking water. You will have an unlimited drive until in the evening where you will drive straight to your tented camp or lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Accommodation: Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge.

Day 6:  Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

Today you will depart early after your delicious breakfast to Ngorongoro crater with a game drive en-route. The Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtakingly beautiful setting and the best place in East Africa to see the Big Five. It is one of the most beautiful natural wildlife safari sites in the world and an exceptional place to interact with people from the Maasai tribe.On reaching the crater’s edge, the 20 km diameter caldera opens up before you in all its stunning glory and you will descend into the crater on an adventurous trail. This World Heritage Site is seasonally home to over 25,000 animals in including a wide range of birds’ species, hyenas and the endangered black rhino. Hot Lunch will be served at a picnic spot at the hippo pool and after that you will continue to explore the crater. After exploration you will ascend the crater and drive straight to your accommodation in Karatu for dinner and overnight stay.

Meals: All-inclusive meals (B, L & D) + drinks.

Accommodation: Kitela Lodge.

Day 7: Karatu to Arusha

Early morning after breakfast we will return to Arusha. Those who wish to combine this safari with a trip to Zanzibar can take a flight from the local Arusha Airport or Kilimanjaro International Airport.
