Day 1: Materuni Vlllage And Coffee Tour
A tour to Materuni Village and Waterfalls is a great way to spend a day away from the bustle of town life. The walk to Materuni Waterfall offers a glimpse into the nature of Tanzania
You will be picked up at your hotel at 0800hrs and transferred to the Materuni village. It is roughly 30 minutes’ drive from Moshi town.
The tour starts with a walk to Materuni Waterfall. It is an opportunity to see how local fruit like avocados, mangos, lemons, and bananas grow, as well as learn some of the local history, traditions, village economy, agricultural and cultural life. When you get to the waterfall, you can refresh yourself in the natural pool, so swimsuits will come in handy!
The tour will continue with a visit to the local village lying in the coffee plantations. The villagers will demonstrate the process of coffee farming and guide you through the preparation of coffee from a bean to a cup. Sing and dance along with the Chaga people as they are grinding, roasting and boiling the beans. When the coffee is ready, villagers will serve lunch.
Later transfer back Mohi for overnight at Parkview Inn Hotel
Day 2: Olpopongi Maasai
Olpopongi Maasai Cultural Village & Museum is the first authentic Maasai Boma and Museum with overnight facilities in Tanzania. Olpopongi provides a unique Maasai & wildlife experience in the West-Kilimanjaro Maasailand, Just 74 km from Moshi While at the village you will share the authentic Maasai life & culture. The income obtained from your tour supports local Maasai families with water, food, employment, personal income, medical treatments and education.
You will be picked up at your hotel at 0900hrs and transferred to the Olpopongi Maasai Village. It is roughly a 1 and a half hour drive from Moshi town. While at the village you will be given a tour of the village and museum to get a better understanding of Maasai culture and tradition. You will also go on a short walking safari and learn about Maasai hunting techniques and their natural medicines. A traditional lunch will be prepared for you in the afternoon. After your tour of the village you will be transferred back to your hotel in Moshi for overnight at Parkview inn
Note: All Maasai – jewelry on sale is hand-made and produced by the local Maasai women of other nearby villages. All Museum tours & walking safaris are performed by experienced English speaking Maasai guides.
Day 3: Chemka Hotspring
Maji Moto, known locally as Kikuletwa Hotsprings, is paradisiac oasis amidst the Tanzanian savannah, offers captivating, Bounty-styled views, crystal-clean water and dense vegetation around.
You will be picked up at your hotel at 0800hrs and transferred to the Chemka Hot spring. It is roughly a 1 and a half hour drive from Moshi town.
Chemka oasis is a unique phenomenon – it is the only place in Tanzania [and most likely in the whole East Africa], where the groundwater actively interacted with geothermal sources, forming a number of small lakes with warm, never-stagnating water, which purity is not inferior to the best Dominican or Maldivian resorts.
Later evening drive back Moshi for overnight at Parkview inn
