Indulge on a 5-day Tanzania luxury safari, visiting the most iconic parks including Tarangire and Ngorongoro Crater. During this tour, you will also participate in horseback riding and cultural activities at Mto Wa Mbu, which will include visits to rice plantations, local schools, and a local market. You will spend the night in deluxe accommodations.
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where a friendly guide will warmly welcome you to Tanzania. As you drive to Arusha, take in the stunning view of Mount Meru towering over the bustling city. Settle into your hotel, relax, and recharge. Later, meet your guide, who will walk you through the week’s itinerary and answer any questions. The evening is yours to explore Arusha’s vibrant atmosphere or simply rest at your accommodation, preparing for the thrilling adventure ahead.
Following an early morning meal, you will embark on nature hikes around the fifty acres of forest, lake, and stunning gardens, which will expose a variety of indigenous and exotic flora and fauna. Cold water springs originating in the forest feed a crystal clear lake that is home to a variety of frogs, freshwater crabs, and fish such as barbel, swordtails, and trout. The woodland is home to Sykes monkey troops as well as black and white colobus monkeys. This lush habitat attracts a wide variety of bird species. If you are a herpetologist, you will appreciate the species richness along the lakeshore.
Following that, you will go on a 1-2 hour horse ride, and lunch will be cooked at the lodge, after which you may relax or, if you choose, we can arrange for additional activities.
After an early breakfast, you will be picked up by your safari guide from your lodging and taken to Tarangire National Park. The drive to the park, which takes around two and a half hours on well-maintained tarmac roads, is called after the Tarangire River, a key water source for wildlife that earned it the nickname 'river of warthogs'. This refuge is famous for its elephant herds that frequently congregate along the riverbanks. Giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests are also common sightings, accompanied by predators such as lions and leopards. Tarangire has an unequaled number of breeding bird species. Among its most spectacular features are the massive and ancient Baobab trees, some of which are thought to have stood for millennia.
Lunch will be served at a picturesque picnic location in the park. After an amazing game drive, you'll arrive in Karatu.
After breakfast, you'll drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area, which is colder. As you approach Ngorongoro Crater, it reveals a sight evocative of a lost planet. Within its sheer volcanic cliffs lies an untamed environment, complete with wide savannahs, pockets of acacia woodland, and dazzling lakes and swamps. The crater, formed millions of years ago by a volcanic eruption and subsequent collapse, covers an area of 260 km². It is well-known for its geological wonders, but it also acts as a natural sanctuary for some of Africa's most densely populated large mammals. As you descend into the crater, you'll come across herds of wildebeest, zebra, gazelles, and over 500 different bird species. This reserve provides unmatched opportunity to spot endangered black Rhino.
Lunch will be served in a scenic picnic area on the crater floor. Following your game drive, you will return to your Karatu lodging.
Following breakfast at your lodging, you will begin a 1-2 hour horseback riding excursion. Following that, you will travel to Mto Wa Mbu hamlet and participate in various activities such as seeing local farms, banana plantations, and rice plantations. You will also have the opportunity to sample local beer and participate in a Swahili cookery session. You will also visit the local market and have a local lunch prepared by locals according to your choices. After that, you will travel back to Arusha or to the airport to catch your journey to the following destination.
