Pick Up from Your Hotel in Arusha

• Start your day with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Arusha. Begin your journey towards Tarangire National Park, approximately a 2.5-hour scenic drive through Maasai villages and rolling plains.

Arrival at Tarangire National Park

• Arrive at the gates of Tarangire National Park and begin your adventure. Your safari guide will brief you about the park’s history and the incredible wildlife you are likely to see during the game drive. Tarangire is especially famous for its large concentration of elephants, towering baobab trees, and seasonal migration.

Morning Game Drive

• Kick off your game drive through the park, exploring the diverse landscapes from open savannahs to swamps and riverine forests. Spot large elephant herds as they make their way across the park, giraffes grazing on treetops, and zebra herds roaming the grasslands.
• Keep your eyes peeled for predators like lions resting in the shade, leopards lounging in trees, and hyenas patrolling the plains. The Tarangire River, which cuts through the park, serves as a vital water source, drawing wildlife from across the region.

Picnic Lunch at a Designated Site

• The afternoon is also a good time to explore the park’s famous baobab trees—some of the oldest in Africa—and learn more about the park’s unique ecosystem from your guide.

Depart for Arusha

• After an exciting day of wildlife viewing, begin your journey back to Arusha. On the way, you’ll have more chances to enjoy the landscape and possibly spot wildlife along the park’s boundary.

• Tarangire is home to Tanzania’s largest population of elephants, and game viewing is exceptional, especially during the dry season (June to October), when animals concentrate around the Tarangire River.
